The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy of the Republic of Albania is hosting its first Gas Market Development Symposium with the aim of highlighting the country’s gasification potential for investors.
As one of the first companies to work with Albania on gas infrastructure development, Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project is proud to sponsor this important event.

TAP will be one of the largest foreign investments in Albania, contributing significantly to Albania’s Gross Domestic Product during its construction and generating thousands of new jobs. There will also be additional economic benefits, such as the need for local service suppliers, during the pipeline’s operational phase.
The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is a natural gas pipeline project. The pipeline will transport gas from the Caspian region via Greece and Albania and across the Adriatic Sea to southern Italy and further into western Europe.
Albanian section of TAP pipeline will be 204 km onshore and 60 km offshore in the Albanian section of the Adriatic Sea.
The project is aimed at enhancing security of supply as well as diversification of gas supplies for the European markets. TAP will open a new so-called Southern Gas Corridor to Europe and establish a new market outlet for natural gas from the Caspian Sea. TAP’s shareholders are Axpo of Switzerland (42.5%), Norway’s Statoil (42.5%) and E.ON Ruhrgas of Germany (15%).
